The poster was influenced by the book called ‘Practice of looking’ by Marita Sturken and Lisa Cartwright. I was assigned to summarize chapter 6 called Viewing strategies which explained the way that people can make a connection between the object and their inner thought.
This poster aimed to show that people can extend the form of understanding into a variety of media. It is clearly seen from Star trek that people take their original idea into fiction or cartoon form. This shows that people always try to intervene in the meaning of it by their experience or culture preference and change the meaning in different ways. In this case, the viewer sees the relationship between Kirk and Spock in a romantic way which is not actually happened in the movie. They transcode some of their conversation and reuse them in affirmming ways. Therefore, viewers are the one who created a new culture or even totally change the perspective of that object.
